I bought this last November to use in my office at work because it gets pretty dry during the winter and spring months (Tucson, Az). Since getting the little Air-O-Swiss Travel Ultrasonic Humidifier (TUH) I run it for 9+ hours a day 5 days per week between mid October and early June. I notice a positive difference in my breathing and how my nose feels during the work day. There is less static electricity in my clothing, and I feel that my skin gets less dry.

I'm using a 20 oz Dasani bottle and tap water which usually lasts about 12-15 hours with the fan set to about 50%. I really like the blue light and the cloud of cool mist that the humidifier puts out. I don't hear anything from the TUH over the fans in my computer, but in a silent room you would probably hear a small amount of fan noise if you were near the unit. Very occasionally there is the small water drop sound or little splash - a pleasant sound which I hardly even notice anymore. Overall the TUH is pretty quiet. I clean off a small amount of accumulated mineral scale with the included scraper/brush about every other month.

The TUH has outlasted two similar units from a different manufacturer that I got at a local drug store (same price). My Air-O-Swiss has been trouble free and attracts a fair amount of attention from co-workers. I know of at least one other person here that has bought one, and she likes hers as well. If yours is DOA or has problems, I'm pretty sure that Amazon will make it good.

I'm very happy with this product. I'm using it in an unusual way, as the humidity source inside an industrial humidity oven. It is reliable even at 115 degrees and shuts off safely when out of water. It puts out more humidity than the little Homedics unit I tried before.

Followed the operating instructions, set it up with a bottle of water, and left it on the bathroom counter. Came back a couple hours later to move it to the bedroom, and it was sitting in a puddle of water. Thinking I might have misunderstood the directions, I had my husband, who is more mechanically inclined, check it over the next day. This time we turned it on. It did produce mist -- for an hour or so. After that no mist was coming out, even though there was plenty of water in the reservoir. And it again had leaked. Worthless. Unfortunately, I bought it last spring and didn't try it out then, so am out the money.
