After reading all the horror stories about the Stokke Tripp Trapp, I was VERY hesitant to buy one. I bit the bullet and I am glad I did! My 22 month old daughter loves the chair and on our hardwood floor there is no chance that she can push off the table and fall backwards. If you have a "slick" non-carpeted floor, I recommend highly!

I got our first Tripp Trapp as a shower present. We loved it so much, we paid for a second for our second child. It is, by far, the best combination of form and function in the world of high chairs. No one can honestly say they like the look or the size of the standard giant plastic high chair. There are newer "modern" looking chairs out there that are more like art pieces, but those won't be functional for any longer duration than the standard high chair. The Tripp Trapp is so simple in design, takes up so little space, is so easy to move, and will last. There was a 3-4-month period in the early babyfood stage when I did not love this chair, because it had no tray. But that period lasted only 3-4 months and only with the first kid, who's been using the chair now for 4 years. The second kid zipped so quickly through the babyfood stage because he wanted what we were eating, we've been having family meals at the same table together pretty much ever since. He's almost 2. Both boys can get in their own chairs by themselves. I still hover over the little one when he climbs, but he's quickly mastering it, and has learned to buckle himself in. The 4-year-old doesn't need/use the buckles anymore. We only leave them on the chair so that when guest kids come over, they can be more secure. (Guest kids always want to get in these chairs). We've become big fans of montessori education and self-sufficiency in small children. The Tripp Trapp allows youngsters to be part of the family meal in their own chairs, sitting at the right height with support for their backs and feet. I know we'll get many years of use out of ours. I'm already contemplating painting ours colors of the boys' own choosing once we feel like we can get rid of the harness altogether. I am surprised to read the safety concerns in the reviews, because we've had no issues with our 2 rambunctious boys and 2 chairs. I think any high chair can pose similar dangers (plus pinching injuries), so I'm still convinced the Tripp Trapp is superior.

I only wish we would have purchased this chair sooner. My 18 month old daughter is so much happier and comfortable right up at the table with a place to put her feet. She is much less fidgety. This chair is sturdy and clearly made to last a long time. We love it!
